Sarah Abbott, D.M.A

Author of the Violin Sonatas by Women website


A doctoral graduate from Arizona State University, violinist Sarah Abbott has performed throughout the US and Europe. She holds a Master’s Degree from the University of Michigan, an Artist Diploma from the Robert McDuffie Center for Strings, and a Bachelor’s Degree from Brigham Young University, where she also taught as an adjunct faculty member.

Playing alongside classical artists such as Lynn Harrell, Robert McDuffie, Gil Shaham and Stefan Jackiw, Sarah has also been invited to perform with Michael Buble, the Osmonds, and most recently with The Killers on Jimmy Kimmel Live. Sarah also performs regularly with the Utah and Grand Rapids Symphonies.

Suzuki trained with Mark Mutter at the University of Michigan, Sarah aims to help students excel by tailoring lessons to help students meet their specific goals. Her top priorities in teaching are to inspire a love of music in students of all ages and capabilities, and to guide them to reach their musical aspirations.
